My Hero

Pavo-Ratti has just rescued the chicken's eggs. Pavo-Ratti , a rat, is an opera loving aficionado who employs opera in a daring rescue of defenseless chicken eggs and in the process he discovers that loyalty and love are more important than even opera. Bene, bene!

I am a Children's Book Illustrator, Author and Painter. When I was nine years old I remember drawing with my friends on our dad's shirt cardboards and I was known as "the best drawer" in my 4th grade class at Wyncote Elementary School. When I was in the 6th Grade I was chosen to paint one of the windows at Gimbels Department store in Philadelphia and I won first prize. I continued to paint using leftover window shades as my canvas with my sisters discarded oil paints. Finally, I graduated from The University of the Arts, with a degree in Illustration and attended The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts for painting. I really loved Art School and felt for the first time I was "home." always add an animal in my illustrations whether there is one in the story or not because I think it makes the pictures more fun. I live at Sandy Point, WA, overlooking the San Juan Islands, with my husband Hugh.
