Salt Lake City International Airport
The Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) offers a wide variety of art, which consists almost entirely of work by Utah artists. While each piece is unique, much of the artwork within the terminals offers a reflection of Utah – its people, its culture and its spectacular surroundings.
SLC is building a new airport. The in a $2.6 billion Terminal Redevelopment Program and North Concourse will ultimately replace the existing terminal, concourses and supportive facilities by 2024. When the new terminal opens in 2020, new artwork will enhance the facility. SLC hired artist Gordon Huether to design architectural features that convey the natural beauty of Utah. The Canyon will be the most prominent artwork display representing northern Utah's majestic mountains and southern Utah's red rock canyons.
