The Erratic

The Erratic

About

You are standing near the old BNSF railroad line that is now the new Redmond Central Connector trail. Celebrated public artist John Fleming has used salvaged BNSF railroad material to create Redmond's ERRATIC - a massive public art sculpture of steel, rock, glass, and interactive LED lighting. Fleming's inspiration came from the huge boulders that are left in the wake of retreating glaciers, often called 'glacial erratics.' This piece includes several large glass panels backlit with interactive lighting and will eventually integrate live plantings on the sculpture surface. Redmond's ERRATIC is an innovative mixed media artwork using found objects, glass art, digital art, and organic art.
