Artist as Subject features a diverse array of solo exhibitions that expand upon the traditional self-portrait's intention to capture the artist's likeness by exposing his or her inner state, body, history, or minutiae of daily life.

The artists collectively represent work in which the artist and the subject matter are one and the same, emphasizing the essential role that they play in portraying internalized themes and ideas through their unique abilities. With the artists as their own subjects, they create a unique avenue to speak with the audience, essentially allowing them to guide an interpretation.
