These sculptures made from recycled plastic represent people's emotional baggage and psychological garbage, manifested in the products they consume. A grim premise for works that ultimately try to rekindle the playful and imaginative from amongst this evolving mess.

The Artist

Born in 1979 in Mexico, Mansilla has lived in the USA, Spain and now Australia. He received a MA in Media, Arts and Production from the University of Technology, Sydney, and a BFA from the Universidad de Monterrey, Mexico. His art falls in the intersection of figurative and abstract, obsessed with the possibility of making intangible themes visible such as sexuality, spirituality, our relationship with nature and death.
